AppDeploy for Slack

Describe what you want in Slack and Slackbot builds it with AppDeploy, then sends back a live link - no repo, no CLI, no hosting setup.

Add to Slack

* Slackbot’s app connections are available on eligible paid Slack plans, and Slack is still rolling them out. If AppDeploy doesn’t appear under Slackbot’s Apps button after you install, your workspace doesn’t have access yet.

Why use AppDeploy in Slack?

Teams constantly need things built - internal tools and dashboards, marketing landing pages, event sign-ups and registration flows, customer-facing apps for a launch or a campaign. Normally each one either waits in an engineering backlog or pulls developers off roadmap work, and whoever picks it up still has to know their way around repos, hosting, databases, and deploy pipelines. Plenty of them never get built at all, because the effort is out of proportion to the need.

AppDeploy removes the engineering backlog and infrastructure setup from this flow. Anyone on the team describes the tool in Slack and gets a working app at a public URL minutes later - no ticket, no engineers pulled off their work, and no infrastructure to understand.

These aren’t limited prototypes. AppDeploy provides the infrastructure needed to make them real, usable apps: hosting and a public URL, database, authentication, storage, secrets, real-time updates, scheduled jobs, AI capabilities, and custom domains. Every deployment is automatically tested, versioned, and can be rolled back if something breaks.

How it works in Slack

After installing, open a direct message with Slackbot, click the Apps button in the toolbar, and toggle on AppDeploy. Sign in when prompted (Google, Apple, X, or Guest) and you are ready.

From then on you just message Slackbot. For example:

“AppDeploy a team PTO tracker - anyone can request time off, managers approve, and everyone sees a shared calendar.”

Slackbot calls AppDeploy’s tools in the thread, shows each step as it runs, and replies with the live link when the app is deployed and its tests pass. Slackbot asks you to approve each tool action before it runs - choose allow once or always allow.

What you can ask for

  • Build it and put it online - describe what you want and get a live link back Related MCP tools: Get deploy instructions, Get app template, Deploy app
  • Check how it’s going - see build progress, automated test results, and any errors Related MCP tool: Get app status
  • Change it, or undo it - iterate on a deployed app, or roll back to an earlier version Related MCP tools: Get app versions, Apply app version
  • Use our domain - connect your hostname, get the DNS record to create, and let AppDeploy verify it Related MCP tool: Configure a custom domain
  • Show me the code - inspects the source of an app it deployed Related MCP tool: Read deployed source
